A Bonners Ferry man whose dog attacked a woman without provocation was sentenced last week for "Maintaining a Dangerous or At Risk Dog - 1st Offense."

Jeremiah A. Pimentel was charged by the Bonners Ferry Police Department after his dog, breed not specified, attacked a woman November 8 and bit her in the face.

Pimentel pled guilty and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, 58 days suspended, a $142.50 fine and 364 days probation.

In addition, he was ordered to pay $791.50 in costs and ordered to maintain the dog on a leash, under control of an adult, any time the dog is out in public.
