On June 14, 2020, heaven welcomed back a beautiful spirit. A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Diane L. Ott-McKee, 74, passed with family at her side in Coeur d'Alene. Please join us in a celebration of Diane and her memory at Bonners Ferry Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, unless otherwise announced due to COVID-19.
She lost her battle fighting Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and heart issues.
Diane was the first born to Carlene England (Brademeyer, maiden) and Dean England in Long Beach, California, on March 22, 1946. As the family grew she became the older sister to two younger sisters and one younger brother, Peggy, Greg, and Suzanne.
Diane grew up in Provo, Utah, active and dedicated to her church, faith, family, sports, music and the outdoors. She graduated from Provo High School in 1964 and moved to California to attend the Institute of Religion.
There she met Larry Ott and they were married September 14, 1968, in Newhall, California, in the Newhall-Saugus at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Diane loved children and desired to have many of her own. She was blessed with four; three girls and one boy!
She is served by all four children and spouses; Michele and Damon Severson, Bonners Ferry, Heather and Brian Chatterton, Post Falls, Douglas Ott, West Yellowstone, Montana, and Crystal and Jessie Dyer, Spanaway, Washington.
Diane raised her family in Palmdale, California, while owning and working in the family business, Desert Florist and Gift Shop, serving her church and community and being a full time mother, always striving to be there for and enriching her family and community.
She was indeed a devoted mother. Those who knew her knew this well.
Diane moved to Harrison, Idaho, in 1994 to continue to raise her children in the country she loved. In 1996, she became a grandmother for the first time. She now has now grandchildren with one on the way, due this September, and one great grandchild.
Diane and Larry Ott divorced in 1999. She stayed in Harrison, Idaho until all her kids finished school. Diane found her love of her life and remarried to Monte McKee on January 9, 2015, in Saint Maries at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They lived happily together at Monte's family home in St. Maries.
Diane will be dearly missed, but her family rejoices knowing that she is reunited with her mother, father, sister, husband Monte, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. We know she will always be with us and us with her.
