A Kennewick, Washington, logger died today in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 95 this morning near mile 496, Stampede Lake.

According to the Idaho State Police, Troy D. Armstrong, 54, was driving a loaded 2005 Kenworth log truck north at about 10:54 a.m. when he left the roadway and drove into the northbound ditch, where he hit a power pole, overturning the rig and spilling his load.

The truck continued up the embankment, coming to rest on the drivers side.

Armstrong died while efforts were underway to free him from the vehicle.
