We hear much in our day concerning human rights. Many today claim to be advocates of human rights and promoters of love, acceptance, tolerance, justice and equality. While these seemingly noble statements of concern for our fellow man are made, the greatest human rights violation in the history of our nation takes place in the name of a human "right."
I speak, of course, of the abominable practice called abortion.
Since 1973, more than 50,000,000 abortions have been recorded in the US. This is roughly the equivalent of 15% our current population. While this vile practice has been deemed legal by the Supreme Court, it is still deemed an abomination by the highest court!
I know of no people or group who have been victimized in a greater way than the unborn. They are victims of bias, inequality, hatred and violence. These helpless ones are not only robbed of their right to choose, but of their very right to exist. Every unborn human; regardless of race, gender, disability, ethnicity or religious heritage has a right to be born and should not be deprived of that right by those powerful enough to do so.
In Proverbs 6:16-17 we are told that "hands that shed innocent blood" are "an abomination" to the Lord. While I am fully persuaded that, God through Jesus Christ is both willing and able to forgive this grievous sin; I am equally persuaded that He cannot and will not until we repent.
