Santa and Mrs. Claus will be coming to Bonners Ferry this Saturday, December 7, and it will be a day for the whole family to enjoy, start to finish!

Boundary County businesses will be open and offering great sales for those gifts and accouterments needed to brighten the holiday season, and to making the shopping more fun for the ladies, 9B Ladies on the Loose kicks off at 9 a.m. and continues right up until Santa arrives at the Georgia Mae Plaza in downtown Bonners Ferry via fire truck at 4 p.m.!

9B Ladies on the Loose is an exciting way for the ladies of Boundary County ... or who just happen to be in Boundary County ... to add fun and excitement to their holiday shopping.

Participants stop at any one of these locations to pick up a map: Sugar Plum Floral, Clover N Co., Reflections of BodySense, Ash Street Market, The Dressing Room, The Nest, Under The Sun, A Little Comfort Quilting or Dots Country Kitchen, and then go to these and bonus businesses listed on the map to get your map stamped and shop for great sales and specials just for 9B Ladies!

Visit at least 10 of the locations during the day to get your map stamped, then leave it at the last business you visit before you head downtown to greet Santa, and be entered to win Holiday Cash redeemable at any of the 9B businesses!

Bonus businesses participating so far include Sharon's Country store, Boundary Consignments, The Trunk, Picturesque, Dress and Bless Boutique.

Now, if dragging the kids along sounds like too much of a chore (or if you need to be away from certain peering eyes as you play Santa) take the kids to enjoy this year's free holiday movie, "The Grinch," sponsored by North Idaho Collision, at 1 p.m. at the Pearl Theater, 7160 Ash Street.

In this delightful film, the Grinch and his loyal dog, Max, live a solitary existence inside a cave on Mount Crumpet. His main source of aggravation comes during Christmastime when his neighbors in Whoville celebrate the holidays with a bang. When the Whos decide to make Christmas bigger and brighter, the disgruntled Grinch realizes there is one way to gain peace and quiet.

With help from Max, the green grump hatches a scheme to pose as Santa Claus, steal Christmas and silence the Whos' holiday cheer once and for all!

Kids attending will get free treats and bags of candy, many with cash prizes inside!

Kids 12 and under should be accompanied by a parent, guardian or older sibling.

The final credits of "The Grinch" will roll in plenty of time to get to the Georgia Mae Plaza by 4 p.m., where Santa and Mrs. Claus will flip the switch to officially light Bonners Ferry for the Christmas holiday season, and then visit with kids in the Georgia Mae Pavilion.

There'll be goodies for the kids and cocoa and cider to keep guests warm in a plaza decorated to the nines to reflect that good old Christmas spirit!
