Selkirks-Pend Oreille Transit Authority, SPOT, is pleased to announce new Saturday service from Bonners Ferry to Sandpoint for the ski season! The no-cost service will start on December 7 and continue through March.

The bus will leave the Bonners Ferry Visitor Center parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and arrive at the Schweitzer Red Barn at 9:15 a.m. to transfer to the 9:30 a.m. Mountain Route bus to Schweitzer Village.

On the return trip, the bus will leave the Schweitzer Red barn at 2:45 p.m., arriving back in Bonners Ferry at 3:30 p.m.

Due to the limited space available, you are required to reserve a seat on the bus at least one day in advance. Call 208-267-4740 to make a reservation, or if you have questions about the service. The bus can also provide service to other locations in Sandpoint.

What about people wanting to go to Bonners Ferry to go shopping? It seems one sided, Bonners Ferry needs to be in the economic loop; not all want Sandpoint. The prices are higher and it is a tourist town. They can come to Bonners to our Senior Center for lunch and shop downtown and up at Three Mile where the Amish and the Mennonites have some great stores.
