This morning at 9:21 a.m. a threat of violence was sent to Deschutes Brewery, Bend, Oregon, warning them that their employees should show up "armed and on high alert" at an annual event tonight at Eichardt's Pub Grill & Coffee House, 212 Cedar Street, Sandpoint, set to begin at 5 p.m.
"A crowd might show up armed and do something nasty," the threat said.
Eichardt's managers say this is a common and ongoing issue for the past couple of years for businesses advertised in one independent local press, and the threats have thus far been empty.
"While we intend to still move forward with our annual event, Deschutes Brewery must respond to this as a real threat," Eichardt's posted to its Facebook page this morning. "Beer and festivities will still be happening, however we are obligated to share this with you to make an informed and safe decision for yourself."
Each year, the Deschutes drops in at Eichardt's for a celebration of the brewery's beers; tonight to feature Jubelale, Nitro Jubel, Super Jubel, Cellar aged Abyss and a special Deschutes dollar beer.
