The latest update of the Johns Hopkins University world COVID-19 map at 10:31 a.m. today shows a milestone; the United States has exceeded one-million cases, with 1,002,498 confirmed cases reported.

The total dead of COVID-19 in the U.S. now stands at 57,266.

The United States count amounts to fully one-third of the total world cases, which stands at 3,083,467, with 213,824 dead. The U.S. death toll is just over 26-percent of the world's total.

The Unites States has about 4.25 percent of the world's population.
