Kootenai Valley Times LLC publisher/editor Mike Weland and advertising/sales director Skye Dimmitt.

Any time you take a big step in a new direction you worry, and when we at made the decision to go from a plain HTML format, doing everything by hand, to a new, high tech content management system (CMS) we are still attempting to master, we were certainly worried, but it appears the decision was a good one.

With the old system, covering just Boundary County, we averaged over a million hits per month, reaching 2,142,347 hits in April, 2019.

In December, 2019, our first full month with the new CMS and extending our coverage area to include Creston and the Kootenay Region of British Columbia and Troy, Libby and the Kootenai/Cabinet Region of northwest Montana, 52,245 unique visitors accounted for an astonishing 2,662,796 hits.

Even more astounding, as of 10:30 a.m. today, less than a day and a half into the New Year, we've already had 1,042,167 hits from 26,518 unique visitors.

Both I and advertising/sales director Skylar Dimmitt extend our heartfelt thanks to all who read these pages, and to all the businesses who advertise and support our endeavor to provide timely local news, for free, to readers around the world.
